Communion Meditation for Young People

Matthew 25:35-40       Welcome Wagon

On Sunday we gather together, we learn about Jesus Christ, and we share Communion together. But this is not the full meaning of what it means to be a Christian.  For Matthew said...

Matthew 25:35-40
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,  36  I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'  37  "Then the righteous will answer him, `Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  38  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  39  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'  40  "The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

But, how many of us do this?  We may argue we don't have an opportunity because no one will take us to a prison or the people we come in contact with already have more than they need.  But, do they have more than they need.  Here is a true story, and perhaps this will help you see what you can do....
Here is a Park. See if you can find the fish. Peter & Penny were sitting in the park one day watching their girls play. Since kids have few inhibitions, their daughters began playing with Ross, one of the Crossroad staff kids.  Missy walked over and said "Are these your daughters?"

As they had just moved to Brooklyn, Penny was thinking of Missy, "She's friendly, She has a huge smile... I better watch my purse."  She was a little skeptical of this overly friendly new friend, but after talking for an hour they swapped phone numbers and addresses and promised to get together sometime.  The next morning, Missy showed up at their house with bagels and the message You can't move to Brooklyn without getting bagels!"You can't move to Brooklyn without getting bagels!"  That's how Pete & Penny's journey toward God connected with Crossroads.
What can you do?  Can you LOOK for an opportunity to show Christ's love to someone?  How many people can you "witness" to in a single day?  When we take communion today, think about the missed opportunities this past week and how you can do better this next week.

Bonus....
Here are some puzzles for you.
