Beth Dierkes
Beth Dierkes
plays the autoharp for Jordan's Angels, which she began playing when
the trio formed. She grew up in Hamilton, Illinois, where she
lived with her mother, brother and aunt. One of her best childhood
memories is harmonizing with her mother to songs on the radio.
When she was in
high school, there weren't many guys in the school chorus, so she
often sang the tenor part. After high school, she married Dan
Faber and settled in Keokuk, Iowa, (just across the Mississippi
River). In 1985, Dan died from cancer, leaving her with 3 small
children.
The following
year, she met and married Tom Dierkes, then, in 1991, Tom's job
required them to move to the Nashville area. They located in
Brentwood, and immediately became involved with the ministry of
Franklin Christian Church. Within 2 years of moving, she lost
both her parents to cancer. |
It is her faith in God combined
with the wonderful gift of music that gives her comfort and the strength
to carry on. When she sings, she sings for God and for His glory.

Cyndi Torres
Cyndi
grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. Because her family was from
the south, she was raised on two great musical influences... Motown
and country. Every school recess featured Cyndi and two of her
friends as Diana Ross and the Supremes, doing their own version of
"Tiger By The Tail."

Cyndi
came to Nashville in 1987 to invest herself in
songwriting. Her first acquaintance was with Garth Brooks. He
was still a nobody but he had a dynamic presence, on stage and off.
From that meeting came the co-written song "In Lonesome Dove" that ended
up on his 1991 project Ropin' The Wind.
Says Cyndi, "Since that time I...found
and married my dear husband, Noe; had two terrific kids, Nadina and K.C.;
had two songs on two Top 10 albums in Europe; had every other song turned
down more times than I could or would want to count; and became a devout
Christian."
"Most of my current songwriting
centers around Him; my Savior, my Friend and more times than I would like
to admit, my Psychiatrist. Thank you Lord, for keeping me sane and keeping
me singing!"

Mindy Karper
Mindy Karper has
been passionate about writing and singing music since before she can
remember. She grew up singing and playing music in and around a small
town called "Sedro-Woolley" located some 80 miles north of Seattle
Washington. Mindy performed with her band "The Ace of Hearts" at
weddings, churches, local clubs and the county fair.
Her first musical influences
were from her mother's old records by country artists Conway Twitty and
Loretta Lynn. She later picked up any and every kind of record from
Kitty Wells to Fleetwood Mac. She loves almost every kind of music
from heart wrenching country, energizing bluegrass, pure Appalacian
and worshipful contemporary Christian (sorry, no opera!).
|
She has been surrounded by
friends and family that share the same passion for music. She's spent
countless, precious hours singing with her family. Many members of her
family have been involved in music in some form or fashion. Both of
her grandmothers sang and performed, one singing country and the
other singing hymns. One grandfather picked banjo, while the other
grandfather became one of her biggest fans. She has several cousins
that still perform and sing in "Sedro-Fuzzy" area.
Mindy, her husband Gary, and
their two daughters, Sondra and Sarah, moved to the Nashville,
Tennessee area in the mid 90's. Mindy still seeks a career in
songwriting and singing. She met Cyndi and Beth at the
church she attends in Franklin, Tennessee. They soon became fast
friends and started playing Bluegrass/Gospel music with each other
through an effort set forth by Cyndi, to raise the spirits of Jack
Jordan, a friend who was suffering from Leukemia.
Mindy writes and sings on
this album as a ministry and a witness. She sings with her heart and
soul and hopes that it reflects the love she has for her Savior, Jesus
Christ.
