We are excited about the youth group work that has taken place here, but we can see that there is much to take place in the area of spiritual maturity. The youth group teens certainly are full of life, and have their ideas as to what they want to see happen in the youth group, but we know that there certainly needs to be more of a focus on what God wants.

As world events continue to remind us, true peace can only be found through knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Peace on earth is a fragile thing.
For the Maasai in Kenya, peace is threatened when a cow is stolen from a Tanzania raider; when a Maasai is killed by someone from another tribe; when borders with neighbors are disputed; when resources like grass and water become scarce; when a thief breaks into a house while the owner is away; when co-wives become jealous of their husband's attention; when a woman in labor needs medical intervention; when a child slips into a coma from cerebral malaria.... On June 21, 2002, the North Korean authorities gave permission for CRAM Worldwide, Inc. to build a Medical Clinic and Kindergarten on "The Goat Farm".
Reflections..... In September 2000, CRAM Worldwide, Inc. purchased approximately four acres in Hunchun, China, which is located within a 20 minutes drive of the North Korean and Russian borders. The property included an existing 'unfinished' building that would be completed and become the Phillip Kim Education Center that includes a school for disabled children, and English Language School, and Computer School. Looking Forward ---- There is a great need to add boys and girls dormitories and dining facilities at PKEC. The children currently reside in two large rooms within the school. Please pray concerning this need... See the Bulletin Board for more.... |

We sold our old vehicle! This will allow us to move forward to get blueprints done and start on the renovations to our newly purchased home in the Dutch compound. We especially need to get the roof redone before the long rains start.

Alberto & Lynette Rivas, Dominican Republic |
Jonathan David Rivas came into the world on Saturday, December 21, 2001.
He was born at 10:25 am, and he weighed 7 lbs. 4 ozs. He was born by cesarean because the Dr was concerned about a low heart rate. Turns out that his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck twice. Sign up at the Information Desk if you are interested in going on a Dominican Republic Missions Trip in the first weeks of August, 2002. See the Bulletin Board for more.... |

Richard & Debbie Lee, Zimbabwe |
![]() At Nswazi, forty minutes from out home, we have two strong growing churches with their own church building, Sunday school, and the toilet block. They have their town preacher. (He is the one who was the interpreter for Debbie's sewing and Bible groups.) He is now being paid by a preacher in California. They are doing well spiritually, but have to be careful to avoid being harassed by political thugs. In Binga, we have up to thirty churches which, being spiritually strong, are being harassed continually by these thugs to the point where lives are in jeopardy. See the Bulletin Board for more.... |
IDES International Disaster Emergency Fund |
IDES financed a project where we are trying to build boats for the Christians to fish on Lake Kariba (Zimbabwe, with Richard Lee) so as to be able to make some money to buy food. This project is in danger as the political thugs demand that the boats be built in their boat building yards at six times the price we negotiated with another boat builder. To argue is to risk a severe beating or even death. The project is on hold after only four boats have been built while we try to sort something out. I dare not get involved too actively because I am white. People in Binga are living on roots, wild fruit, and anything they can get to eat because they are targeted by the ruling party for punishment for voting for the opposition in the General Election. The children don't go to school because they are too weak to walk.
