Medical Teaching Seminar                 One afternoon, we took a tour of the Forbidden City, home of the Chinese emperors for centuries.   We were also delighted to cheer on John Sankok, our Maasai partner and clinic administrator, as he presented the impact of CMF's medical ministry on Maasai churches and communities.   It was refreshing to be able to walk the streets and parks of downtown areas day and evening without fear. We were amazed to see modern highways, functioning streetlights, and more bicycles and vehicles than we had ever seen… and all without a pothole in sight! Looking out our hotel room we looked upon downtown areas that dwarfed Houston and even Chicago in cities with populations of up to 24 million inhabitants.   New Day Creations on the outskirts of Kunming combines a factory for the manufacture of items such as refrigerator magnets with a foster care facility which takes in children with severe birth defects. The factory provides workers with an income and a means to provide for their families, while the foster care facility provides a cozy home with top-notch care for little ones with considerable handicaps.   Comfort for Suzie as she mourns the loss of her uncle, Charles Ross, who passed away suddenly in Scottsdale, AZ while we were in Thailand (In a favorite family picture taken in 1996)   Suzie was able to present a health lesson to a group of executives in which they acknowledged the need for spiritual health as a part of human wholeness.   Dave, Rebekah, Suzie, and Lauren Snyder, May 2004   We just finished hosting the summer internship program with 4 interns and a coach from the US, plus two other interns from South Africa.
