Dear Friends,
1998 quietly slipped into 1999 as we enjoyed the fellowship of George & Martha Mixon and their children at their home about 3 hours' drive from where we live. We spent the first days of the new year cleaning out 19 months of dust accumulation from the home of another CMF family soon to return from furlough. It might not sound like a very enjoyable way to mark the beginning of a new year, but for all of us, it was a joyful occasion. We have been so glad to welcome back Paul, Pam & Angela Highfield after an extended furlough to the U.S.
The first seven weeks of the new year have been full and much has been accomplished:
We have also seen some amazing answers to your prayers. We recovered quickly from a viral illness that laid up our whole family for a day earlier this month. In the course of a few hours one morning, three of our four-member family were either vomiting or running to the outhouse with diarrhea every 10 minutes. The Russells took good care of us and by the next day we were back on our feet.
We also received some incredible financial news just a couple weeks ago when our December report from CMF arrived in the mail. To tell you the truth, I had been dreading writing this next update. Like most people, I do not like to make financial appeals. Our monthly support has been quite solid, yet our project funds had been trickling in while unanticipated clinic vehicle repairs consumed much of what we had saved toward our clinic projects. Suzie and I prayed that the Lord would provide if it was His will that we move forward with our Central Clinic/Pharmacy building near our CMF training center at Ewaso Ngiro.
I had estimated that we would need up to $35,000 to fund this project.
All of the generous contributions we received in December combined to equal this amount!! Yes, we find this to be unmistakable affirmation that our goals lie within the Will of the One who brought us here to Kenya!
Please join us in giving God the thanks for his remarkable provision. And... please accept our thanks for your part in equipping us for ministry here through your faithful prayer and generous financial support.
We appreciate your continuing prayers for our health, safety, and the wisdom and strength to meet the challenges of life here. May our Lord bless each of you in your ministries to your neighbors.
In His Service,
Dave for the Snyders
We challenge our supporting churches to designate this summer's VBS offerings for the purchase of clinic motorcycles. These motorcycles are an important asset to CMF's medical and evangelistic ministry. They provide the only means for the clinic workers to reach remote areas when someone is critically ill.
Checks should be made payable and sent to:
