Letter from Richard Lee - 28 January 1998

28 January 1998

Dear Friends,

Greetings from BZCM and the Lee’s. We wanted you to know that the work is going very well, especially in Filabusi where the people have heard that we are now living here. We planted a new church (the 4thin the area) two weeks ago, in a village just past Nswazi, called Baka (the ‘k’ pronounced a ‘g’), we had 30 attend. The women from there have asked me to come and see them about Bible and sewing classes. I will be there on Wednesday 4th February. There are 20 women at this village who will come.

In this New Year we will be needing some help and support with Bibles, sewing machines, fabric, cottons and any sewing materials such as needles, pins, tapes, lace, etc. We ask that you would help us by making it possible to go and tech and reach out o these people who are so anxious to hold Bible and sewing classes. The women in these photos are from churches here in Filabusi; the uniforms (red and white) that they are wearing represent the Churches of Christ, Christian Churches in this area. We have managed to help some of them to buy the fabric but there are still +30 who need fabric for the uniforms, so we are asking for your help.

If you send a cheque, please specify that it is for sewing, Bibles, or uniforms, or whatever touches your heart, so that our forwarding agent can send it on to us. Any amount, whether it be big or small would be very much appreciated and a great help to the work her in Zimbabwe.

The sewing machines are selling for $130, fabric from $5 to $6 a metre, Bibles $7 to $10 each.

We would also like to share with you that we are now allowed to receive second hand clothing in the mail, so if you need to tidy your cupboards out and have any clothes you no longer need or wear, we would appreciate anything for the people in Binga who are desperate for any clothing, some have only rags to wear. We thank God for you all and your love, prayers, and support over the past years, and want you to know that you are very much part of us and without you we couldn’t do the work that we are ding in Zimbabwe and it is exciting in the many ways God is using us for His Kingdom.

God Bless you

In Christian love

The Lee’s, Richard, Debbie, and Gayle
