Praise God ! Keep praying!

Mitchell is the young teenage lad who I had the chance to ask to come over from the skateboard park in December last year. Well at the end of September he was baptized in a pool of one of the people in the church.

Greetings from your mates down under. Sharon and I are thankful to you all for your continued prayers and support.

We know that you all have prayed for us and are still praying for us as we have seen God at work.

As you will see by the photo’s in this letter God has touched the lives of Emma and Mitchell.

Emma was just baptized in her parents pool and that was a great time of witness to her family, of which do not attend church, but please be praying for them.

I was given the privilege to speak on the topic living wisely in evil days, taken from the passage in Ephesians 5: 15-16. This was a good time of renewal for us as we got to hear other speakers as well.

The church here still needs your prayers, we are experiencing growth, but there are also some relationship problems between some of the church members. We know that this is so because some great things are happening in the church. The adversary does not want the church to grow. So please continue to pray for the work here.

There are those people in the church as well as the youth group who have made the choice to follow Christ recently as well as those who have renewed their commitment.

The Thronton Church's Youth Group, October 2003

Please pray for Peter Hipwell. Mitchell brought him to church in January. He is close to making a decision. He said he wants to be baptized in a river.

Also praise God for the decision that Karen Hurst made last Sunday. She will be baptized in the first week of November. Also please keep her sister Rebecca in your prayers as she is seriously praying and thinking about being baptized as well.

Also please pray for Nigel James, he is the same age as me, and he has a son Daniel who also made a decision recently to follow Christ. Please pray for them as they learn what it means to follow Christ. Nigel grew up going to the Anglican church, and so he has some knowledge, but has expressed that he wants to really learn.

Also we have had new families attending and we believe that they will be making a decision to become a part of the church very soon.

As you can see God is working here in Thornton. We also know that we need you to keep on praying for us as we know that when there is blessing we need to be careful of the adversary who does not like it.

We rejoice in what God is doing here. We believe that God is opening up so many new doors for us to walk into.

We pray that God will bless you,

your Aussie mate,

Phil

Sharon's Desk

Sharon and Philip Eagling, October 2003

Hello again, it seems a little too long since our last newsletter, must mean that we have been busy. The truth is we have been busy. God is opening up new doors for us, we are realizing God’s blessing in our lives.

We have seen God at work in the lives of people of late that we have been excited at how and what God is going to do next.

For those of you who get the Horizons missionary magazine, you might have read two articles written by Philip and myself in the September issue. This issue gives an insight into what it means to reach an Australian for Christ. As our supporter if you did not see this issue would you please let our forwarding agent know and he will send you a copy. Please send him a short note the next time you send our support to him, and he will send you a copy ASAP.

Like I said above there are many new doors being opened up to us. We have seen two baptisms in the last 6 weeks and there are more to come as Philip has told you. What an exciting time!

We do have some prayer needs. Could you please pray for us as we are still trying to get ahead financially. The Australian dollar has risen to an all time high for a couple of years. It is now worth 70 cents, and it is forecast that this will continue to rise. This means that the support we receive from you all will go down in value. So please consider this when you are trying to determine if there is any need to raise your missionary support. This is a genuine need. We do appreciate the support we receive now.

Also when you are praying can you please pray for the youth group and the Sunday school, also the plans for next year. We so do appreciate the support and prayers that is given to us. We have experienced the blessing of God and we know that this means that there are challenges ahead.

In Christ we thank you,
God bless,

Sharon.

Savannah's Learning Page

Savannah as one Cool Dude

Gday my little mates. How are you all? Just wanted to let you know that it is getting hotter here through the day now. Daddy told me it is getting cooler over there for you all.

My mum, dad, and I went on a small holiday and we just came back this week. We had so much fun catching up with family and going to the beach. My daddy said that it was not all holiday, he had to preach at a convention. I am not sure what that is, but he said that it was a good time.

Did you know that in Australia the meat pies can be made out of crocodile, emu, and kangaroo. I always thought they were our treasured animals but when I heard that Aussies ate them I was gobsmacked (stumped for words).

Well anyway daddy said that it was ok to eat some of those pies because some of those animals were considered pests in some states of Australia. He said that it was kind of like some of those animals you eat, like deer.

Did you know that in Australia there are people known as farmers, but you call them ranchers. My mummy said that some of these farmers are really in trouble due to the lack of rain. It does not seem fair that

that these farmers have to struggle all the time. My daddy said that we should be praying for them.

My daddy also said that we should be praying for the children that come to Sunday school and their parents, that they will see the need to come to church. I know that it is good for my mummy and daddy to go to church because they always seem to come away from church happy. So it must be a good thing.

Did you know that in Australia there is an animal called the bandicoot which looks like a big rat with a nose that Pinocchio would be happy about. It sure looks funny. Maybe I could ask daddy to send you a photo of it.

My daddy said that this coming Sunday we will get more daylight as we are coming into what he said was daylight saving. I am not sure of what that means but daddy said that it means we get more daylight. He said that it means I get to stay up longer because I won’t be able to go to sleep at the usual time. Anyway I guess you know what I mean.

Please pray for my mummy and daddy because they are really busy, and sometimes get really tired. I have got to go, all the best, Savannah.

Well I need to go now, all God’s blessings,

Savannah.
