Greetings from down under. We pray that in this time of crisis, that you all will be certain of the following. That God is on His throne. That God still answers prayer. That God still saves the lost. That God gives comfort to those who ask Him. That God takes care of those who love Him and have been called, according to His purpose.
In this time we are praying that God would give your leaders and ours the wisdom to know how to govern. If you did not know, Australia is involved in the war, with soldiers and various military involvement. We are praying that God will protect the innocent, and protect those who go out to fight for freedom. That those involved will have wisdom.
I have been preaching a sermon series in the book of Daniel. In this series I have spoken about the fact that Saddam Hussein has many heros and one of them is King Nebuchadnezzar. It is very interesting to note that this king acknowledged the One True God. A fact that most probably has not been acknowledged by Saddam.
The people in the church here are asking questions about what is happening now. Their questions range from what is going to happen? To, is this the beginning of the end times? What do you think God is going to do about this? My answer to all these questions is found in our being faithful in our relationship with Christ.
The church here is going great. We have had some increase in the attendance in the last three months. I beleive that there may be an increase as the war with Iraq becomes even more a reality. I do not like to say this, but it just might take a crisis to get people to seek answers from God. It is sad that a crisis has to come before people wake up to the fact that they need God to be the greater part of their future. We are praying that God would indeed bring about a great harvest of people into His kingdom through this time.
Please pray for our youth group and Sunday school. They both are growing Please pray for a young couple. Christine and Daniel. Who Sharon and I have managed to encourage to come to church.
Please pray for Mitchell and Peter, two young men who have been coming since December 22nd. Please pray that God will use me to help mentor these young men into servants.
Please pray for our financial situation. We still need help with our finances. We still need help with a tax bill that won’t go away. We have not been able to save enough for this bill. We have struggled financially because our rent and cost of living is much more. We need help. We need about 4-$5000 for our tax bill, and we need to raise our support base, as we were not able to raise it sufficiently enough while we were over there recently.
Please prayerfully consider our plea.
Also pray for a friend of ours, her name is Fay Treadwell. She has two brain tumors.
Pray for healing.
Thanks you all for your continued prayer,
God bless,
yours in Christ,
Philip.
Greetings in the name of Jesus. I pray that God will protect the lives of those of you who have loved ones in the Gulf right now.
I was wondering what I could write to you all about at this time. I guess what really comes to mind is that I need to tell you all of what God is doing in the life of the women in the church here, and in my life.
I started a women’s fellowship in January. We have seen at least ten to twelve women at this Bible study time. It has helped relationships to be formed in a healthy way. It has also helped me, because as I said in the last newsletter I find it hard to be an up front person. I have always been a behind the scenes person. So God has opened up a whole new way of thinking for me. I still struggle with leading women who are much older than I am, but I know that with God’s help and a lot of prayer that this ministry can become a healthy one. I need your prayers for courage and wisdom !
One thing I would also like you all to pray about is our financial situation. We are going to have to move out of the home we are now renting because we have not been able to get ahead with our finances. The rental property that we are in now, was really the only one that we could rent at the time that we came to Thornton. We needed a 4 bedroom house because the church does not have an office for Philip. Now we are going to have to find a smaller house to rent because the rent is too high for us. So please pray that a suitable house will come our way. There is one that is a possibility. Someone in the church knows someone who might rent their house, so please pray to that end.
This past week I went to a women’s conference with three other women from the church. It was a great time of renewal. The thing that stood out the most for me was the good advice that was given about family and how to approach life situations. How to approach people was also great.
God bless and bye for now,
love
Sharon.
G’day, from down under. My daddy said that I needed to pray and ask God to protect and give wisdom to all those who are involved in Iraq. All I know is that I do not understand what this means, but I will pray the same.
I wanted to tell you what happened this past week. My mummy went away to a women’s conference. I stayed with daddy. I found out that daddy cooks really well. Because we had what he called really goooood Chinese food. It sure did taste great, but I wonder if daddy really cooked it. I guess he is like some other dads, who, when it is time for them to cook they like to take a drive to the local fastfood store to cook for their family, ha ha.
I said to daddy that it would have been alright if we just had vegemite sandwiches. But daddy said that he planned to have that for the next nights tea (dinner).
Also while mummy was away, I watched daddy watch yet another sports show on TV called cricket on Tuesday night. It sure is funny watching daddy yell at the TV. As if they are going to say something back at him, or do what he says. I guess all you kids and mummies understand what I am saying here anyway.
I am now going to pre-school one day a week. This is great because all the other little tiddly lids (children) are there, and I have fun playing with them. After all I am just a kid, and I love to have a ridgy (cool) time.
My daddy said at church this coming Sunday we will be praying for God’s will to be done. I am not sure of what that means, but I am sure that God is in control of those who love Him.
I know that my mummy and daddy love me, and daddy said that is the way that God loves us. He loves all those who are His children. God loves those people who do what He says. I guess it is when we don’t do what God says that we get ourselves and those around us into trouble.
Also this Sunday I will be with the other kids having a great time at Sunday school. My mummy said that there needs to be a lot of prayer for the Sunday school kids as they tell their parents about what they do. My mummy said that it is important for their parents to also be encouraged to come to church. I agree, because it would be sad if there were no mummy’s and daddy’s in heaven.
What happens when you cross a kangaroo with a sheep?
You get a woolly jumper. Ha ha.
So with that in mind I guess that if God is in control of those who love Him, it will all work out.
May God bless all those who seek him,
love
Savannah.
