Please pray for those who follow other gods!

Dear supporters, fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, thank you all for your continued prayers & support.

It is now June and we are feeling the cold "Down Under." I know that it must seem odd to you because you all are probably sweating with the summer heat.

Sharon, Savannah & I are all doing fine. The work here is great. The people seem to be responding well to our ministry. On the 18th of June I am starting a training session which focusses on our Christian witness. I am using the "Becoming a Contagious Christian," training series.

I have recently had some contact with a family from the SaiBaba cult. Make came and did some electrical work at the place we are staying. We got a conversation going about what we believe, and he said that he believed that man is divine, and that all roads lead to God.

I invited him to a church dinner that we were putting on for our unsaved friends. He said he would talk it over with his wife. He did not turn up. I need your prayers for this family. I need you to pray specifically that we will be able to reach them with the message of Christ. For their story is the story of a great majority of people here in this valley.

The challenge is certainly there for us. Those who live the alternate culture (hippie), lifestyle recently put on a hemp festival. In other words a marijuana festival. It was certainly a well attended festival, much to our dismay.

Also recently a small five yeat old boy was hit by a car and killed. His parents are part of the Krishner cult. I had the opportunity of comforting the grandmother. This was hard for her as she and her daughters are Christians, except for the mother. This is yet another ministry opportunity for us, please pray for this family and our desire to reach them.

The reason who I tell you about these people and events is to show you some of what we are dealing with, here in this place. We certainly do need your prayers. We want to reach as many as we can here, but we cannot do this without your commitment to praying everyday. That God would indeed open up more and more doors for us. That we will be able to have the answers to give the people who have followed these cults.

I leave you all with this, that I know that if you will pray, these people will come to know Christ. The work here will move ahead. God bless,

your in Christ,
Philip.

Sharon's Desk

Hello again, hope you are all well. Savannah, Philip & I are all well. Savannah will be one years old on the 7th of July. She is certainly making our lives a lot more interesting as times goes on. We love her dearly, and we have come to recognize that she has certainly become an Aussie kid, because she loves vegemite. Most of you would know what that is, because Philip gave people a taste of it while he was going to different churches trying to raise support. It is that black smelly spread that we aussies eat on toast.

Well, we are finding it a little tough right now with the cold weather. The snow has come down south a little early this year, so we are receiving the cold winds from the south. The people here say that this is how it used to be many years ago, of which we said, "it would have to turn back that way, now, when we come here," oh well. At least it is not snowing here. The days are clear and sunny, and the nights are cold.

On a positive note, I am going to start a women’s fellowship group, so that we can encourage each other, and have it as an evangelistic outreach. I do value your prayers for this new venture. I have never taken on organizing this sort of thing before, so I need your prayers. I also need your prayers for our family. We are still getting used to parenthood, and we certainly have had our challenges, so I do value your prayers. God bless you all, thanks again for your prayers & support, in Christ, Sharon.

How to speak Australian!

My daddy said that when I want to yell at the footy match I have to say hey you guys are a bunch of wombats! He said that this is a term of endearment, of which I have no clue what that means, but that is okay I am only one years old. Savannah at 10 months looking every bit the cool dude

My Mummy said that when I want to say hello in Australian I can say many things, like g’day, hows the tiddly lids. This means that I said hello, hows the children.

My mummy, not an Egyptian mummy, haha, said that when I want to say something is a good idea, I can say hey what a bonzer idea, or what a ridgy-didge idea.

My daddy said that when I wanted to tell someone that they are being real genuine, I can say that they are being fair dinkum. Daddy told me that he had some of you learn that last funny word.

Well I guess I need to choof off now and have my vegemite sangers. Bye for now, Savannah. Ps. I am keeping Mummy & Daddy on their toes, but haven’t started to walk yet. I talk all the time, but no one understands me yet, they say when I really start to talk I will never stop.
