Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.

Sharon, Savannah and I want to thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

We also wanted to thank you for your prayers that have gone out for our family. My parents are doing better, and the problem that was in the church seems to have turned around. So thank you all for your prayers.

On the subject of prayer, please pray for the following. Please pray for our church as we will not have a piano player from August to the end of November. The person is going to your land for a visit with friends. Also this could be an opportunity for the church to really pray and think about its worship service. It could be a time for us to think about the outreach of the worship service.

I believe that all of you who read this letter understand what it means to present a balanced worship service. Most of all we want to honor God in order for us to be brought into a real understanding and presence of God.

Just recently young Peter Hipwell began playing the guitar in the service. We believe that this will be the catalyst for a new worship band. Praise God for that.

Also just recently young Mitchell Grob, the young teen who gave his life to the Lord last year in October spoke to me about teaching him how to preach. Please keep this young man in your prayers as we can see God working in his life. I was 16 when I first believed God wanted me to do something for Him. Mitchell has expressed a desire to use his gift of guitar playing combined with the possibility of speaking to other young teens. So pray that this would come to fruition.

Praise God for new life in Christ. Erica and Nigel James who were baptised in January have certainly shown their desire to know God more. They have given those around them a new resolve to serve the Lord because of their excitement. Do you remember when you first came to the Lord? What were you like? Did you want to know how you could serve Christ? Our elder, Eddie, is the one in purple, hamming it up with Stan , another leader. Fun!

As you will see in photos, we had a church picnic recently.

Also in the photos are those that were taken at our Christmas in July dinner. This year we decided to make it more as an outreach. As you can see we had a lot of fun. There were parents of Sunday School children present, and they were able to see their children singing some favourite chorouses of the children, while they did the actions. Also some of the bigger kids had a great time making fun of themselves. Please continue to pray for these parents, that they will respond and come to church.

Please pray for a group of supporters that are coming down here in October. This time will be good for them to see first hand at what we are doing here.

Please email us,

God bless,
Phil.

Sharon's Desk

Hello again, I wanted to thank you all for your prayers and support. The Aussie Hillbillies

What has life offered us lately? Well we have seen God working in the life of Mitchell and Peter. As Philip mentioned, Peter is playing his guitar in the worship service now, and young Mitchell is interested in learning how to communicate to his generation with the gospel.

The women’s group is looking at new ways we can help the community. We need your prayers for wisdom on this one. We have thrown around an idea to have a coffee craft morning once a month at first. We need you to pray about this for us.

We also want to be able to help out young mothers more, as there is a shortage of good child minding facilities, and this could lead into an outreach as well.

We do need you to pray for some people in the church, such as Christine Gwilliam. Her health is not the best. She has struggled from the very beginning of her life as she was a premature baby. She is now 26 and has so many health problems.

Also please pray for Denise Schimmings, one of the young teens who I have mentioned before. She has attended church with Emma, and we believe that she is close to making a decision.

Making decisions that are going to give you and I the best outcome is not always easy. Now take for instance our decision to put on a Christmas in July dinner, and allow some of the big kids to perform their favourite songs. What a decision that turned out to be. As you will see from the photos, Philip decided that he was going to put on a wig with the elder and another leader of the church. The outcome to all of this, was hilarious. We had so much fun watching Philip and the other two men. There is definitely a side to my husband that you all have not seen. It is funny.

Maybe those of you who are coming down soon to be with us, will see that side of him. We are looking forward to this time.I need to go for now. Savannah is doing well.

May God richly bless you

love,
Sharon.

Gday all my china plates (little friends), how are you all?

Have you all gone swimming lately? I have not, because it is too cold here. In fact my daddy said that it snowed only 50 minutes away from where we live last Sunday. I asked daddy about what snow was, and he said that it was very wet and hard to walk on. He said that while he was at Johnson Bible College he slipped on some snow on the road and went for a six (fell on the floor).

My mummy told me the other day that the Christmas in July dinner we had last Saturday night was really bonzer (great). I know this to be true because my daddy looked so funny and so did my mummy when she did her little play. I am not sure that daddy would ever put the wig he had on again, but he said he had fun.

There were about fifty people at least at this night, and my daddy said that the people seemed to appreciate the effort. I am not sure what that means, but I guess it is good.

Sunday School kids having fun singing at the Christmas in July dinner.I wanted to tell you kids that the other children who attended the night told me they had a lot of fun. My mummy said that it could lead to other children coming to Sunday School, that would be great.

Kids did you know that in Australia there are now 20 million people. My daddy said that recently there was a thing called a census. This is where the government does a check up of how many people are living in Australia. Daddy said that this is nothing compared to the population of America.

My mummy said that our suburb is growing too. That means more kids at church. Anyway I have to go, please look at the photo’s as they show some of the Sunday school kids.

May God be your strength,

your little Aussie mate,
Savannah
