Gday everyone, we pray your Christmas was filled great memories, and Christ was at the centre.
We had a church family Christmas. We had 12 people over from the church to celebrate Christmas day with us.
We have had a lot to celebrate as you can see by the photo. I had the privilege of baptizing Savannah on Sunday the 7th of January. Savannah had been thinking about this decision for some time. There might be some who may say Savannah is too young to make a decision to follow Christ, but we asked what it all meant and she said that Jesus died for her.
Also Sophie Dybell, who turns 18 in a month was also baptized on the same day. Her photo is on the back. She is the girlfriend of Mitchell Bice who was baptized in May 2006. Sophie also had been making her decision in the last two months. She is so excited about her decision.
Please pray for both of these young girls, that they would grow and mature in Christ to become great witnesses for reaching Australians for Christ!
Jesus. We would also ask you all to pray for the following. In July this year there is a team of people coming from Pittsburgh. At the pre sent moment there are about 17 people coming down under to help us. Please pray for them.
Also there is another group coming from Franklin Tennessee, in October, please pray for them.
Also we are in prayer for Josh West who we have invited to come down and help us with the youth. He graduated last year from Johnson Bible College TN. I mentioned him last year. Please pray for him and the plans he is making.
Also please pray about how you can help us. We are still in the need of help to purchase some chairs for the church. We are trying to raise approximately $2, 980. So far we have had no response to this request. Please prayerfully consider any kind of help would be great.
If you decide to help us with this request please make sure you send any donations separate to your normal support. As this would help our Forwarding agent.
The New Year has begun and we are in the process of making new plans and set ting new goals for this year. We would ask you to continue to pray for us, as God has certainly answered the prayers you have offered on our behalf.
Please continue to pray for my parents, as they are still having problems.
We also wanted to thank you all for your continued prayers and support.
God bless,
Phil
Greetings everyone and a happy New Year to everyone. Thank you all for your prayers and support for last year. We pray that you will continue to be part of our ministry here at Thornton.
Wow we are into another New Year. My goodness the last one just flew. What a year 2006 was, what with the problems Philip had with his parents and other old childhood problems that came up, we could have just taken out the months of September to November and thrown them away. Thank you for praying!
We certainly have learned a lot from what took place in those months. We have certainly understood that God is our comforter.
Amongst alt the family problems that took place, life still went on in the church and in our home. We found out that God had other things to take up our time, like the pirate play. That was a blessing as we were able to use that as a redirection, a refocus on what God would have us focus on, evangelism.
Savannah did really well in school, even though she was with you all for nearly three months. Philip is doing better, although he still feels deeply saddened by his families problems.
The New Year brings with it a whole new challenge. We want to see this year bring more people to church, and we want to be able to reach them. So please continue to pray for us. Please pray for us to have passion and the people in the church to have a passion for the lost.
Also please pray for our health. Philip had an inner ear problem about a month and a half ago. Please pray that God would give us good health. We pray that God would richly bless you all. We are so proud of Savannah, pray for her and Sophie as they begin a new life!
love,
Sharon.
Gday my mates in America, how are you all. How did your Christmas and NewYears go?
We had the air-conditioning on both days. Although my daddy said that in a place known as Victoria, which is a southern state, apparently it snowed. This is so strange because we are in summer.
I wanted to thank those people who sent us Christmas cards and words of encouragement. My mummy said that made her and dad feel really good.
My daddy was not really happy for a while last year. He was sad on a number of days. I was so upset for him, I was sad too.
Please pray for daddy, as he needs so much prayer to be in the ministry. That’s what my mummy told me, and I believe her. I also have prayed and God has answered my prayer.
Wow what do you think of the photo’s down the bottom, what’s up with those two silly people? Ha Ha.
Daddy is going to use some silly photos of all the people in the church. One of the church people went around taking photos of everyone looking silly because daddy wanted to use them in a sermon. I can’t wait to see what that is all about.
I pray that you new Year will be great in God, and that you will ask your friends to come to church.
your little Aussie mate,
Savannah
