All Eyes On the Cross?

Dear Supporters, fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, thank you for your prayers and support.

We have just remembered the death and burial and resurrection of Christ. the people of Murwillumbah came out on Sunday night to pray for their community. The ministers of the town, of which I have come to know, planned this night so that the churches could be united in praying for their community. The theme of unity came out in the message that was given. The unity of the cross was the message.

The reason we want the churches united in praying is seen in the fact that the people here are spiritually bankrupt. The problems that face this community are vast and disturbing.

I have heard that there are witches sacrificing babies, that there are people who practice delving into the occult.

We need your prayers. We are fighting a battle here that cannot be won by human means. In Ephesians 6:10-18 it speaks about putting on the full amour of God.

In verse 12 it says that "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil and the heavenly realms."

The message that we are giving, is that same message that early church gave. That Christ is not dead, HE IS ALIVE! you might way that is nothing new, I have heard it before. Well that is true, but what difference does that make in your life?

I am really loving preaching and teaching here. God is using us, and it is such a privilege. At this moment I am in the process of trying to put together some goals for the church. There is a real need for more youth workers in the church, so that is my focus right now. Please can you pray for this as well.

We also need your prayer for the new families that have recently started to come. Please pray that the church will be able to meet their need.

God bless, yours in Christ
Philip

Sharon's Desk

Hello again, hoe you are all well. Savannah, Philip, and I are all well. Savannah has more teeth now, and is really zooming along with her crawling. In fact i would not be surprised f she was walking very soon. Her inquisitive mind gets the better of here at times and she makes sure that we are kept on our toes.

The time ha flown by, and now we are nearly into the month of May. The weather here is getting cooler at night, and the daylight is shorter. It seems to rain here a lot, with sun in between the showers. the area we live in is beautiful. We live in the Tweed Valley with surrounding mountains, what are filled with our native gum trees. that was one thing w really missed while we were in America. meat pies was another.

It is interest that we miss about America now. We certainly miss Walmart, and Cracker Barrel, but most of all we miss those people we came to know as friends. It is great when you can be half a world away and know that our friends still care and want to know how we are. God led us to America, of which we are grateful.

God bless
Sharon
