Phil  &  Sharon  Eagling

Philip and Sharon Eagling came to America from Australia in July of 1995, not knowing how God was going to provide for them. Phil began classes at Johnson Bible College in Knoxville shortly after arriving. Phil graduated in May, 1999, and in July, their first child, Savannah, was born.

While Australia has around 18.4 million people, only about 3% are Christians. Most Australians are apathetic towards Christianity. For this reason, Phil and Sharon returned to Australia to begin church planting with two other American couples. Thornton, NSW is #3They were based in Newcastle, which is about 2 hours north of Sydney, pasturing a church in Murwillumbah.

In 2002, after a few months back in the states to visit their supporting Churches, they returned to Australia. This time to Thorton, AU, which is part of Newcastle.

They have seen first hand how faithful our God is, and as their faith has grown, their lives have changed. Their experiences in America strengthened their walk with God, and gave them a whole new way to look at life. God has taken care of their every need and they are confident that he will continue to do so.

About their Ministry

Maitland, NSW, which is the nearest big town if you don't consider Beresfield, NSW.

While Australia has around 18.4 million people, only about 3% are Christians. Most Australians are apathetic towards Christianity.

The church plant in Thornton, NSW. This community is west of Newcastle and about 6 miles east of Maitland.

The new church has had an American missionary in it for a couple of years, there is about 11 members in this church. So it is fresh and is ripe for harvest. It has around 17 in its youth group of which at this point in time only three go to church on a Sunday. The Sunday School has about 15-20 in it. So there is a lot of promise and opportunity.

Partnership

Yes! I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to read and know the precious living Word of God.  I would like to partner with Phil & Sharon with their daughter Savannah  in bringing God's Word to life for Bibleless peoples...
